Hi! I’m Hayk, and I believe that live theatre and puppetry can unite and inspire.

What began as a teenage spark — a fascination with storytelling and human connection through theatre — has become the driving force of my professional life. In 2009, I co-founded a nonprofit theatre company in my hometown of Yerevan, Armenia, with a group of talented friends. What started as a grassroots initiative has since grown into the country’s leading interactive theatre organization.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating on more than 100 successful theatre projects with international organizations such as UNICEF, UNFPA, Save the Children, World Vision, the European Cultural Foundation, and many others. Through these partnerships, I’ve blended storytelling and creativity to engage more than 100,000 young people across Armenia — from major cities to remote rural communities.

At the heart of my work is a deep commitment to empowering youth through the arts, especially in underserved areas. I love scriptwriting and creative production just as much as I enjoy the behind-the-scenes work: fundraising, grant writing, donor engagement, and nonprofit administration.

Now based in Los Angeles, I serve as a Board Member and Treasurer of the Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry — a role that reflects a lifelong passion for the performing arts. As a theatre producer and cultural professional with extensive experience in nonprofit leadership, I’m committed to creating meaningful, people-centered work. I’m especially inspired by opportunities that merge creativity with social impact, whether in human services, education, or the arts.

As Board Member and Treasurer of the Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry, I lead professional development tours that connect international puppetry artists with Los Angeles’s vibrant puppetry scene and its wealth of creative resources.
